Fully automatic is illegal to own without a full auto lisence for that specific gun, and if you hunted wit it, it would completely demolish w/e you are shooting unless you let only a few rounds off..and its also illegal to hunt with..lol

actually, I don't think you can. A machine gun is fully automatic.

Fallfast:
I'd love an m16 or ar15 type of rifle, but it's way too expensive for me. As amatter of fact, if I was to spend over $1k on a rifle - I would look for something, like a Steyr aug. CX4storm is the most expensive gun I'm willing to buy at this point. Then again, it's hard to find one for $500
Lost:
I'm not exactly american, but what were you trying to say with your blanket statement?
Flip:
yes AKs are legal here. However, they can't have a full auto mode (only single and burst modes).
Hunting sounds interesting, but I don't like killing things. I like the process, but don't like the end result.
Fiirkan:
I would buy a pistol, but I'm not 21 yet.

i have a mossion M/44 carbine. and you will love this gun except the bolts are usually stiff after about 3 shots....(after a bit of shooting though it will wear in) also the crappy ammo that they come with (WWII surplus) is kinda iffy, some days ill shoot 3 rounds dead on, the next group might just suck butt...however, the remanufactured ammo is REALLY accurate. (i have both 147gr. armor peircing rnds and 182 gr. surplus ammo) the sks is a little weak for me..but im prolly gonna buy one anyway... also, the ak is SUPER reliable if they are original...some of the re-manufacured one have a ****ty bolt/action.
also, i dont consider the 9mm round a rifle round, even if it is shot through a "rifle"...high point makes a good version of this for about $100 (thats what we get them for) up to about $150...they also make the same thing in .40 smith & wesson. (im going to buy one of those soon too) the .40s&w is usually $20 more. the 9mm is going to be less accurate at range and less kenitic energy, but much more forgiving in terms of recoil. (you will get tired of shooting that mossion's 7.62x54R after a while, trust me)
also, how big is this range? typical 100 yard, paper targets? if so, then the 9mm will be fine, also, it could be substituted as a home defense (well, if its the same style design as the high point).
