I think some of the GM's cars run on E-85. I think Diamler-Chrysler is running flex fuel (i saw a sebring with the flex fuel sticker on it today). Not too sure what flex-fuel is, but I think it allows you to run different types of fuel.

I thought it was only for GM, can you really use it in your civic?
If so is there a diff in power?

Well i am only one quarter E85 so it works out to areound 20% ethanol in my fuel wich is double the percentage of the gas you normaly buy in the summer (IF YOU USE STRAIGHT E85 IN YOUR CIVIC YOU WILL HARM YOUR ENGINE) flex fuel is the ability to run either standard unleaded or E85 oh and e85 is 15% gas and 85% ethanol which is the same type of alcohol you drink and do not drink it they put in aditives that will kill you as for power there is no dicernable increase in it and no there is not an ability to convert your vehicle to e85 it is a violation af federal law(sucks because e85 cuts greenhouse gas emissions) pm me if you have any questions

So if civics were not made to handle e85 why are you putting a quarter tank in yours?

ethanol is verybad foryour fuel system, so you should not run it unless your vehicle is built for it, like a flex fuel vehicle.

now the good about ethanol is it has a really high octane rating. aka good for boost. but your efficency goes own, so that your use more ethanol than regular gasoline.

It takes more energy to produce ethanol that you get out of it. Using it may reduce the emissions comming from your exhaust pipe but overall it's worse for the enviroment. The only advantage it has is reduces the dependency on foreign oil, which I think is worth it so, keep rockin the E85 mang.

ummm....amg is right, but also your talking about running a % of something to your fuel like an additive, wich is why him running 20% isnt going to kill his car. running full 100% e85 will rape sauce his car (i dont know how though, but makes sense because our cars werent built for it)

Its like using sea foam...a little bit in your fuel system every now and then is good stuff for it. but you try to fill your tank with sea foam...and i dont think you will go anywhere...

i have seen some nissians ( i know the TITAN is) that are built for flex fuel... i was reading the paper in the window (on the lot, my aunt works there and its right beside my church so i take a gander every now and then) and it said it can run E85, gas, and some other type of fuel, i think thats the best way to go because some times one fuel will be cheaper than the other, and you can switch back and forth...plus you can fill up with what ever is around, like if you usually use E-85 and your out in the middle of no where and realize you have very little fuel left.... stop at your gas station and pick you up some 87 grade gas....

better than a hybrid IMO
