Bikes ASAP

RE: Bikes ASAP
Victory is an offbrand of polaris if i am not mistaken. From what i've heard they are nice bikes.
Having said that I would suggest a Honda shadow,Suzuki Boulevard,Yamaha V(insert series here)or Kawi Vulcan.
The japanese have really refined the bigblock Vtwin motorcycles (unlike harley davidson who has to rubbermount their engine to keep the bastard from rattling itself to pieces)
Another thing to look at is practical horsepower...a bike can only do as much as its engine...HDs have a ton of torque but no HP. all of the japanese manufacturers tend to lean into their powerbands to give a more "exhillarating" ride.
Another thing is suspension...most of the cruisers tend to have a real sloppy handling profile due to their weight.
Another is brakes...avoid rear drums at all costs on a motorcycle...
Another is power delivery...AVOID BELT DRIVEN like the plague...now I know choppers are fun to look at...but belts really have no practicality. the more power the engine has to deliver...the fatter the belt has to be..which in turn gets into your way...when it gets old it slips...if you have too much power it stretches...just stick with good old chain or shaft (bmws and some honda shadows have this)
Either way motorcycles are a fun way to get out and see some sights on a beautiful day.
So whatever you end up getting will most likely be more than enough.
Just make sure you carefully analize the bike you are getting and what you are going to use it for..you dont want to end up with a 12,000$ work of art that sits in your garage.
