Default Which Bike?

Well, I'm going to get a sport bike this summer (my first bike), and I can't decide between these two bikes:

1) Suzuki GS500f

2) Kawasaki Ninja 500R

They both have about the same performance and are about the same price... I kind of want the Ninja because they look wicked with R6 tail conversions (which I will do if I get the Ninja), but I like how the GS500f looks stock, too... which one wouldyou choose?

I know nothing about bikes, but I think the bottom one would look cool with the top one's color scheme. =)

yamaha r6. because it has rediculous handling even on the sport bike level.

too bad about that price tag though.

I've been itching to get a bike myself. I probably wouldn't even get anything larger than 250CC at this point. Then I would move on to 600cc

well, I figured 500's a happy little medium... I think with anything larger, it'd be too much power at this point. I think if I go with a 250, it'll be too little for me after a few months of riding, and I really have no desire to buy two bikes in a few months..
anyway, theres not really any used bikes that arent very, very damaged around here. But anyway, I figured I'd be annoyingly over-cautious when I first start riding, just to avoid getting massive road rash on the bike... I'm going to practice riding on my friend's dirt bike to get used to it before I buy my bike. (I know it's different than a crotch rocket, but it's the closest I can get until I actually get my bike)

I think it's a great idea. A lot of riders start on dirt bikes. I would also invest in some quality gear

CBR600RR... The new ones are suppose to be prettysweet, after that i'd opt for theR6. If you have to have a 500 though I'd go wtih the Suzuki.
