Becoming a Police Officer
ok so I'm getting excited because I'm in the middle of the application process for two different counties where I live. One of the counties I am more then half way through and very close to making it to the Academy. I have to two more steps to go through, and 4 more for the other county I'm also applying for.
I've wanted to be a police officer since I was like 14 and now I'm so close to living my dream and it becoming a reality.

Good luck with the application. It's an honorable profession. Nonetheless, it will subject you to dangerous situations that may lead to the development of unfortunate racial and social predjudices. Keep a positive attitude and fight against these feelings so that you remain as impartial and fair as possible. Most of all, keep safe.

Thanks guys. Yea I deff wont be one of those a hole officers who just look for any reason to give out a ticket. I'll be one of the ones who if you treat me with respect then you'll get it in return and treated fairly. I'll keep you guys posted on my progress. My next step with the county i'm the furthest with is the polygraph on the 28th of this month. The other county my next step is the agility test this coming tuesday.

in long island
cops make 100k after 5 years of service. im pretty sure 2nd highest paid cops in the nation.
Then you look around and you see this
99.9% cops are white and 0.01% are minorities. Basically filling in racial quotas.
Conclusion?
If you are not white and NEVER in your life think about being a cop in Long Island
But if you are white OP, i suggest you look into Long Island PD, 100k, is no joke salary
Sad but its true and thats life. Just gotta deal with it.
