uh no a 90cc goes 45? 50 cc will do like 30 jet skis are really really dangerous my friest time rideing on at 18 years old i fell off and i was stuck in water for about half hour trying to get back on no one showed me how. and its hard unless its a newer jetski but jetski your better off giving your kids a casket IN MY OPINION im afraid to ride my jetski now dirt bike ftw A 50CC dirt bike PLEANTY of power for a small child, he cannot go on hills with daddy but he can stay on flat land.

I don't think I agree with using it as training for when the kids get driving permits, after all the permit phase is training for when they get licenses, and they wait that long for a reason.

haha thats kinda funny. so how fast would a 250cc quad go? if a 90 does 45 that means a 250 will go like 70, and the 400 will go about 90 and a 450 will go like 110? man thats fast but your wrong, sorry

About these speeds... I didn't really understand them and I still don't by the numbers, and now it seems pretty clear that there's a difference between the big atv's and the little gas or electric ones for kids. It seems to me that the answer for my original question about atv safety might be divided that way. Is it the general consensus that the big atvs aren't a good idea for kids, I assume?

I'd say don't give them the chance to be unsafe with it. start them off on something thats a put-around and once they gain experience and knowlege of their vehicle then give them something a little better. make a deal with them if they get good grades or somethin like that. that always worked on me. damn parents anyway...

With the jetski, you need to have someone riding with you when you're under 16..which is one of the reasons I recommended it. You could have you or your husband riding with your children, and like I said, it's much safer. Get a three-seater, and you'll have enough power to pull all three people, or pull an inner-tube, while still not going 80 mph on a lake.

ive been a quad fan for as long as i can remember. my buddie has a honda 150r that was stupid fast. but in my opinion the best thing to do is to teach them how to ride a bike then get them a pocket bike. there pretty cheap too. they come from 47cc which will do about 20 mph with a kid on it. up to a 110cc or higher. ive had two sold one and recieved one from a friend, took the motor off of it and put a briggs and stratton 7.5hp motor on it.
