considering the level of uneducation here in michigan, i probably sounded like a scholar to them...:D
Are people in Michigan really that dumb? I've heard that a couple of the kids at my school considering goin to a school in Michigan and they aren't dumb.

i couldnt think of a good word to describe the people here, so i felt that making up the word "uneducation" would be the most fitting...because it means that they get progressively less intelligent as they go along...

we live in a pretty nice area of the north-of-detroit area, and i dont know anyone who graduated from college, if they went at all...at home, i didnt know anyone my age that DIDNT go to school...

its a union area...take that as you will...the biggest business around here is car production or car sales, and no offense, but you dont have to be smart to make cars, or sell cars...

My problem with such bills is mainly with motorcycles. I live on the TN/VA line and while TN is cool as **** about this stuff VA runs there state like a prison. Well I have been pulled over for having a "tip" on my exhaust, they never said it was too loud but did say it was against the law because it "amplifies" the exhaust note. Well take this into consideration......a Harley Davidson can sit at a redlight next to me with my windows up and stereo on and still ring my ears because they are so loud.

On top of that the exhaust note of most of your aftermarket exhaust are no louder than stock just different freq. ranges. It is like car audio, the reason subs get a bad name is because they produce low freq. well for anyone that knows anything about how air and sound waves move it is not that "subs" are louder it is that the lower freq. travel longer distances and are harder to stop than higher freq. Thus making the illusion that they are louder.

Laws or bills like this are far to inconsistant and bias for me to stomach.

What the HELL!!!!!! Michigan laws can be so dumb. I have a aftermarket catback on my civic and had one on my old 300ZX and i got pulled over before in both cars because of my exhaust. Damn it, now i have to write everyone of those committee members a letter now. Im so mad, why cant they focus on something else that actually affects others like repaving roads or something. Good thing i live a mile away from indiana.

Good Job Patrick!!! I hate people like that...that try and take our freedoms from us...It's that Californian government mentality. :D It's understandable if you're blasting 2 12's and music w/lots of cursing or doin' 30mph in first gear in a residential area, but for daily driving? D*mn!!! Good thing I'm in ND where they are more concerned with agricultural development!!! :)

I've lived on the border of Michigan and Indiana for my entire life and rightly I'm sick of the new and exciting laws/policies Michigan legislation subjects us to on a regular basis. Will they ticket out of state people for having aftermarket exhausts also? I have family in the Detroit area and I don't want to have to get pulled over for something so inconsequential.

Do you know what else grinds my gears? No Fault Insurance in Michigan. Someone can just hit you and you can't do a thing about it. Example, this girl who had just gotten her license was coming across an icy parking lot fairly quickly. Well I happen to be coming through the entrance to that parking lot at the same time. She turns the wheel but keeps sliding; she slammed into the driver's side door and scrapes all the way down the side. This in turn pushed me off the road into a sign which messed up the other side and broke my windshield. My '86 Oldsmobile Calais Supreme was in a world of hurt. I was planning on suing the pants off her for the repairs. I know what you're saying, why fix up an '86 POS. It was 1 of 25 in that color and 1 of 5 that had a leather interior and parts were getting scarce. I had always had fun in that car. And the insurance company totaled it out for $600. Oh well, I drove it until I finally blew it up and couldn't find another engine for it. Ok, all done on my rant. :)
