Yea, I tried making fiberglass speaker boxes for my Fiat onceand it was a disaster of epic proportions. Maybe just using the resin would work, I'll give that a shot this weekend.. Hopefully it wont melt the plastic as it cures.

melt what plastic? if you go about this the right way you shouldnt have any problem except maybe a mold that is a lil mis-shapen. like he stated before go to fiberglassforums and look around and it will help you tremendously, btw keep playing with fiberglass it pays off when u really need it

hell ya....
only way to learn is read and then TRY...
my first project was glassing the floor of my truck and well..... it also was a learning experience and resin aint cheap.LMFAO BUT now that ive had alittle experiment with it i know preaty much what to expect... and i must say im SO GLAD i did the foil tape over the whole floor or i woulda been truely screwed... and i heard so many stories about poping the mold being hard i taped the whole floor and THEN foil and taped it again.... and it still took a few screw drivers and prrying to pop the mold from the floor.LOL
and i dont think the resin will get hot enough to melt the plastic... at least i wouldnt think so.... i know it gets warm BUT having the car sit in the HOT summer day..... well i dont think resin gets that hot.LOL
