I was just wondering. One of my hobbies, other than my car, is collecting 1:18 scale die-cast model cars. I have alot of different cars ranging from classics to imports to exotics. Even have a few movie cars. I was just wondering does anybody else have this hobby and what is in their collection.

My granddad has started a tradition of sending me model cars ever since he found out I was interested in cars. For some reason he thinks I'm obsessed with Corvettes, so my first two are a '65 Corvette and a '57 Corvette.

But my only true hobby (besides my car) is playing drums. I'm in a sort of jam band, and it's basically all I do in all of my free time when I'm not on here or in the garage.

 

my fiancee and i have an entire room of our house devoted to a large collection, ranging from old rare badges, to autographed 1/24th scale cars...posters....you name it...we have 40 or 50 1/24 diecasts...many of them nascar stuff, some autographed...all, of course, dodge stuff. my track car, the white one, was offered as a hot wheel 1/64th in 1980, and they were very limited. i have maybe 50 of them, ranging from obviously played with, to perfect, unpunched, mint on card. the prices have ranged from 2 dollars to 50 bucks for an unpunched mint on card. we just reorganized the room, so i need to get new pictures...here is a picture of the mirada (my white car) table, but there have been quite a few added since then. the magazines shown are a few that have had pictures of my car...and mention of my car.

i have a rather large coin collection. it was passed down to me from my mom, passed down to her from her mom......like i said its frather large. i also import posters, you can see a single wall in my living room due to posters.

 

Oh man I completely forgot. When my grandpa was alive he was like the biggest stamp collector EVER. So now my cousins and I have inherited his collection, which I do believe contains the first stamp minted in the US. That ones in a super high security safety deposit box somewhere in like Switzerland though...

 

uhh....yea, i collect some hotwheels but....my dad collects more. check this out!! - oh, by the way there are MANY more in the floor ( like 300 ) and you can only go to the computer now. that pic. was took when the room was clean a WHILE back. yes, thats where i sit at the comp. at. LOL - pics - http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jhspla.../ph//my_photos ....yes, thats one room and there is more in the basement, closet, and that dresser. matchbox sucks and my dad might have a total of 20 matchbox...some jonny lightning, and the rest, HOTWHEELS!!! i have about 1,000 myself. enjoy!

is this new news, or have I just not been paying attention?

 

My Grandpa builds and collects Model-T and Model-A Fords. He was like 13-14 of them now. He's pretty amazing, he'll see one in a magazine he wants and he'll build it and it'll look just like it. Mostly all parts from fields and barns, some scrap yards and swap meets, he rarely ever buys new parts, just reconditions old parts. He has a Model-A speedster too, sooo dope.

But yeah, that's about all the car collecting I have any experience with.
