i always find it easier to fall asleep when my girlfriends in the bed too. when i'm alone i can stay up all night and be fine the next day. but with my girl, i'm out by 1-2 am.

trying to fall asleep, i focus on a spot on the wall and imagine pictures there. or depending on how the wall is painted, i imagine pictures form from the bumps and stucko on the wall. normally knocks me out in about 10 minutes. <- its also a good bathroom friend. while stuck on the toilet just look at the wall and see what shapes things take. i dunno if its just me but its kinda fun lol

Or you could do like me, starve yourself of sleep for 5 days, then sleep well for 2 days.

I wouldn't reccomend it tho.

i've tried lucid dreaming before
Did you ever get it to work?

...Glad that I'm not the only one who's tried these things. Usually when I describe lucid dreaming and my methods of falling asleep, people look at me like I'm some sort of nut job.

yeah, a couple times. how about you? i don't blame you for being hesitant to mention something like that. a lot of people aren't open to that sort of thing.

i was prescribed ambien a while back for insomnia but it worked less than 50% of the time. my gf has a disorder which requres the use of zanax, so for me 1 zanax and a beer at night about 30 min before bed along with a radio by my side and i sleep fine.

Someone mentioned valerian root and it worked well for me. Nyquil does the trick as well. Plus we sleep with a fan on at night to have a constant noise. I can't sleep with inconsistent, unexpected noises, I'll wake up everytime. Hope something works for you...

yeah, it was sparradic at first, then it started happening even when I didnt want it to. It was at that point where I completely cut myself off because I had a hard time seperating reality from the dreams. Imagine waking up, and assuming that you're dealing with reality, then waking up again, and again, and again..

It's really fun at first, but soooo dangerous if you get too into it. I'll never do it again.

Get a job doing consturction. I use to get home at 6 and fall asleep til 6 the next morning some days.

Orrrr, move to San Diego... because of traffic I have to get up at 5:30 to be at work by 8... that helps me fall asleep at night.

Other than that though, NyQuil.
