Default Acura Drops the RSX for 2007

I dont know if anyone has picked up the August issue of Honda Tuning yet, but in the News there is an article that tell that Acura is dropping the RSX from their lineup as of 2007
Acura anounced this with no press conference, no official statement, not even a short press release all they did was send a letter to the dealerships
" In our quest to provide you and our customers with the very best and most appropriate Acura models, we've decided to eliminate the RSX from the 2007 line-up, thus streamlining out product offering to better fit with Acura's evolving and more upscale image. We have also dedicated additional research and devlopment resources to create future models which will continue to move Acura even further ahead of our luxury competitors"
the good news is that acura has decided to go ahead making a new NXS and there is a rumor that they will also be releasing a coupe version of the TSX, so atleast Aucra is not following the Footsetps of Toyota... with their complete and udder lack of ANY sports models (unless you consider the Scion Tc a sport model, but i mean what kind of sport car is it really? being underpowered and overweight) so even in the empty space that is going to be left there is hope that it will be filled again by something new and better

Acura is aiming at a more upscale market like Lexas and Infinity. They can not look like a luxory upscale market with a sub $25,000 sport compact car. That is why the new SI was brought out, Honda geared the SI to take the RSX's place that is why in the end the SI has better options and a better price. This is no suprise, just like Honda getting rid of the S2K is not a big shocking move. The S2000 allthough a nice car and all proves that for the money it is offered it is not competetive with others in the market. I would look for more 300 to 300+bhp flagships like a new RL. The TSX is geared at being a base model like the ES series is or was to Lexas. Expect to see the RDX 2.3 turbo putting outy 260hp/260tq in the TSX in the near future.
