Yeah I think if someone were to hit me I would just let them... I know I sound stupid but thats what I would do.
I use to have the same theory you do, but thats waswhen I drove a 1989 ford tempo, a 1985 toyota celica, and a 1991 mercury topaz... As soon as I bought my Civic, I started to drive wayyy more carefully. I would never let anyone hurt my civic. It depends on the relationship you have with your car, yourself, and money. If all you want to do is total off your car and get paid, then go ahead. If you don't want to get hurt, but want towrite off your car, good luck. If you want a settlement, walk in front of a ****ing bus. AllI wanted to do was write off my car... LOL but w/e. I learned from my mistakes and have become a better driver.

The best thing you can do is take down their lisence plate, take down the time, and all the details, then phone the police and give them a report. When I use to deliver pizza, I was driving down a downhill road, and some @sshat pulled into my lane and stopped... I had to slam on my brakes, was halfway in the other lane, andnot evenhalf a car length from hitting him. When he drove away, I took his lisence and went straight to the police station, isssued a report, and the police went on totalk tohim. When I do this, I dont do this to get them a ticket. I just do it to scare them and give them a warning that they need to be more aware of their surroundings. I like to feel like I'm making the world a safer place one person at a time.

Thinking life revolves around them that's why! Never before has society been so narcissistic! It's all about me! F You! People have NO respect for themselves so they couldn't possible respect you! And, life is not a video game! There is no "do-over" or reset button. And when you crash your car in real life , **** happens to the car and to you! Some people have yet to make the distinction between fantasy and reality! Reality is, you drive like an *******, you probabley will crash or get a ticket! Can't blame cops or other people if you're being a DICK! The bitch leaving the scene of an accident is just an example of the blatant irresponsibility and the "hooray for me and F you" menatlity out there!

Bottom line is you have to be VERY defensive and aware of your surroundings. Don't assume that people are good, be surprised when they are! Just shy of paranoia is almost how you have to be when dealing with the outside world of today!
Good luck to all as you try to make it to 50 withoutgetting dead!

Oh yeah, and have a nice day!

Damn dude that sux big time. I know how u feel tho because i was rear-ended a few months ago by this drunk guy. Jacked up my bumper and my Greddy exhaust (only a week after I got it). And like what happened to u the bastard wanted to fight then he drove off!! The police got his a** though now 4 months later he's trying to get his lisence back so I might have to go to court soon to testify. I really don't think he should be allowed to drive anymore!!! Masonn I'm with you man I love my car way too much to purposely get into an accident. Even if its not your fault, the whole recovery process is a b**ch!!! I hope I never have to go through that crap again!!

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Have been reading quite a bit and learning a lot. Your cars are awesome!

Something similarhappened to me 2 1/2 weeks ago in my 95 Civic EX cpe. I had that car for 12 years, 207,777 miles on it andhad just put $2000 into it so I could keep it longer...which money I won't be getting back.

Iwas going through an intersectionwith a green light when a woman (facing me)trying to make a left hand turn in front of me decided to go when Iwas already in the intersection. WTF was she thinking?????? I hit her head on (35 mph), both my airbags came out, jacked up my car and it's a total loss. The insurance will only give me about $3000 for it. Not to mention that I still have pain in my head, neck and back from it I had full coverage, don't know what type she has.

I didn't have all the aftermarket stuff like most of you, but this car meant so much to me and it has forced me to get another car. I just got a replacement this past week, a manual 2001 Civic EX cpe. It has a few small glitches but drives great.

My old Civic wasan awesome car but I had lots of bad luck with it. It was broken into twice, attemptedbreak in once and stolen once this year in April (recovered a week later with stereo system gone but otherwise in great shape).

Therefore, I'll be putting a security system (Viper?) into my 01 but only so it doesn't get stolen. I'm not going to put anything real nice into it, if anything at all.I've noticed from this forum that notmany modscan bedone to the 01-04's anyway and they are less likely to get stolen/broken into...right?

It's nice to have a new car, but I miss my 95 Civ.

Glad to be here.....tgs
