RE: 94 supra
so the handful of 7 and 8 second supras that were at nopi last year...those are only good for making power on the dyno? like the lucas supra...titan motorsports...aap motorsports...theyre all just dyno queens? i know what martys answers will be as to what is a "Real car", and not just something built for the dyno, but how about the rest of you? dont get me wrong..that same racing field had some FAST *** civics, but per capita, there arent many cars at an import event that put down better numbers in a streetable form than the supras....the skyline is also impressive, but there was only one of them, and he wasnt racing...

RE: 94 supra
I know there are a number of fast ones but it takes a majority of them using parts from other manufactors to hold together and do it. And also to me it is not what the top tier of the car is doing on the strip with unlimited money it boils down to this, you can take a 700whp fox body stang, 700whp f body, 700whp dodge product(say a Dart or something), and a 700whp supra and drive them all around on the street in street trim and 9 times out of 10 the supra will encounter problems first. On top of that the other cars will run better et's. I still say cars like the EVO, first and second gen gsx eclipse's, Mitsu conquest/starion's, and others are just as good and sometimes better platforms to build on for far cheaper and they hold together better. Also back to the price thing that car is worth that to enthusiest only really. Car collectors will go for something like a older GM or Dodge, newer exotics, or limited production cars. This car was not limited production and offered nothing more than a number of other performance cars in it's class.

i agree with marty on this one. supra is over rated all it is good for is making power on a dyno.

RE: 94 supra
The supra is "worth" the 9 grand purely as an investment... like some others have said, they can fetch top dollar... so it would be worth it to me to get the "hookup" to fix it, so that I can sell it! If I had that opportunity and the available funds, I would be financially stupid to turn that down... but if we are looking to keep the car and drive it for personal use, then Marty is right... it is arguably over-rated... wellthat is my .02...

I don't know what you've been smoking. Even though those are expensive, the most I would pay for a stock car with a bad head, even that nice of a car is around 4-5K, if it wasn't a supra it would be less. There is no way that car is worth 9K. May be in the seller's head it is, but in reality, it's a 13 year old car that was driven into the ground.

eh, whther you like it or not - it doesn't change the fact that Supras are rare and therefore fetch top $$$. Considering the fact that these cars hold their value so well - spending $9k is justifiable. It's the same reason why 1986 M3 in a good shape could be worth over $20k. Compatring such cars to a regular C5 is ridiculous, because they are a dime in the dozen.
