'05 Accord V6 -vs- Trans Am
My brother wants to race me in his 1998 Trans Am with 135,000 miles and stock. His car's falling apart but last week it did pull ahead of a '04 Mustang GT pretty easy.
My car's got 23,000 miles, cold air intake and exhaust. Do I have any chance?

The bumper in the back is falling off and it has front end frame damage. Looks like crap.
When he first got the car, stock it ran 13.4 at Englishtown (back in 1998). It's also still on its first set of factory spark plugs and never had a tune up (he could care less).
I was with him a few weeks ago when he pulled ahead of the '04 Mustang GT. After second gear he shot ahead of the GT pretty easy and kept pulling downt he highway. Yes, the guy in the GT was trying. This is why I'm a little worried []
Would his T/A still be this fast after all the years, neglect and damage?
What should my car run in the quarter (V6 and auto)?

Ok, that helps out quite a bit. I'm pretty certain that the Trans Am should win. If you're car was a 6-speed, I would've probably said that, from a dig at least, you might be able to hang with him.
EDIT- I'd predict a high 14 or low 15 in the quarter on your car.

Your right, that old POS Trans Am pulled almost 4 car lengths by the time we hot 90mph. Then on the highway, we nailed it at around 70mph and he pulled and I couldn;t even keep up.
He told me theTrans Am's after 1997 had the Corvette LS1 engines, which would explain a great deal. Damn those things are fast.
What would it take to beat one in my car (05 Accord with V6, Auto)?

I am going to say this and it may **** some off. The 93-97 F-Bodies had vette engines in them also(LT1) and I actually own a 94 Formula LT1 6 speed with a k/n FIPK and a borla cat back with just over 100k miles on it. Focus on another car to beat, these things take to mods like crazy. Mine just has the intake and catback and while rated at 260hp it dyno's around the 300whp mark with 325 ft lbs of tq to the wheels and pulls in a 13.6 1/4 miles with no problems at all. A buddy of mine owns a 02 Firehawk LS1 M6 and with a set of tires and a SLP lid it runs in the area of 12.7's at 110mph.
What I am trying to say is that these cars are beast and your car is not the platform to be trying to pick on them with.
