...and kids who don't know how to drive their trucks.

While I was at work yesterday some kid in his brand new truck decided he was going to pull out of his parking spot and cut the corner way too tight and his back wheel basically ran over my bumper starting from the driver side and going toward the passenger side. At least that's what I was told happened. I can't be too sure because the freakin kid ran. Luckily some guy saw him do it and got a pretty good look at him and was able to give the police a really good description.

Its still drivable and everything is purely cosmetic. Obviously the bumper needs to be replaced. The bottom screw mounts on the grille were broken off as well. None of the frame or radiator support was hurt at all. The only support structure that was messed up is the bumper support bracket that runs right under the headlight, which can easily be replaced.

But still it really sucks because it was a hit and run and were not completely sure if the police will track down the kid down, although there is a really good chance, so for now the money to fix it is coming straight out of my pocket.

anyway here's some pics of the damage. as you can see in the last couple of pics I have already torn the car down and made it so that it looks as close to right as possible, but its too dark to take pics of that right now so i'll have those up tomorrow.

That is a major bummer. For a trunk hitting it, it doesn't look to bad, meaning that the fender/headlight could have taken the same ride as the bumper. I sure hope they are able to track down who did it, but you never know how hard police enforcement tries with non-injury hit and runs.

 

That SUCKS, but you're also lucky as hell. Glad it didnt take out your headlight/core support.

 

Hit and runs are the worst. I had to replace the front bumper, headlight, drivers fender, and grill 2 days after I got this car due to someone stupid in a truck. Good luck with finding them.

edit: On a side note, I got a bumper and fender off an ebay store painted and shipped for $225. Fitment and paint match was fantastic. The store Valley Auto Body or something like that.

 

ya actually one of the first things i thought about when i saw it was how lucky i was that there was no damage to the headlight or fender.

but when i get around to really fixing it, i think i'm going to go ahead and get the CTR grille, CTR lip, gunmetal headlights, and fog lights along with replacing the bumper.

 

I watched a kid at my old high school do that at the end of the school day. He was parked backwards in a jacked up muddin' truck, and the car next to him was parked regular. He pulled out and ran over the trunk of the other car with his rear passenger tire. And then he ran.

 

dude that sucks. at least it wasnt too bad. another thing i hate about people driving large trucks is that they always think they own the road and are extremely rude drivers. they think they can jus drive you off the road cuz you drive a lil honda. anyways, hope they catch the idiot!

 

Geeeezzzzz........that sucks!! If he hit your car, odds are he'll crash his truck...just hope you're around when he does
