I saw this new BMW sedan while I was getting gas at wallmart Saturday night. He turned the car on and man did his headlights shine bright.
Now 55 watts is nice and bright and all but nothing like his.

I want to know about headlights. I have been reading topics here about them.

Do I need to change my headlights or just the bulbs? I mean are projectors just for looks or do they help over stock?

Or could I get some really nice bulbs and be fine?

What color tone and wattage do I need? Like a 6k color tone or maybe 9k? I want something that is super white and really bright that lights the road up. Sick of seeing the guys go by with these super nice lights that light the road up in this LED colored white.

Search HID's. that is what you saw, you can get a conversion kit. if you want white then do not even consider anything above 6000k. 4300k is pure white for them

 

Yep yep. Three letters... ...HID. I installed my conversion kit not too long ago. 6000k. I love 'em.

 

i think 8000k HID's look sooo sick, but i've heard they dont light up the road that well. 6000K are a pretty common choice. Heres some 8000K:

 

6000k are the best for looks/lighting. i have 7000k's and they are pretty damn blue, but in the rain or bad weather i can't see ****

 

i really dont understand this whole HID, Projector, HID Conversion stuff... what is the housing that u replace the stock with? is HID just a bulb? why do u need a conversion kit?

 

Those are a little more blue looking in the pic above than what I saw. Wow they look great!

Is it cheap? I am on a sorta strict budget as I am in High school(finish up by end of month) and well work part time and dont have a lot of extra cash flow every month after paying my car payment(fun fun fun)

the cheepest you will find a kit for would be like $100 on ebay but they would be a cheep kit that sucks ***. For a good kit you would spend at LEAST $180. but you will never have the look of the BMW you saw unless you did a retrofit which would be at least $200 and be a pain in the *** for customizing it
