Default Taillight problems

I just got a new set of Altezza taillights in today for my 95 civic ex coupe. At first everything was fine; the corner lights came on so I moved on to the trunk lights. This was when the problems came in. The stock trunks lights have two bulbs, 1156 and 2057, but the wiring harness that came with the new lights only had a hookup for the 1156. I connected the bulb and the wiring harness, hit the brake, and nothing. I figured it may just be the bulb so I went and bought new ones and still had the same problem. I connected the stock wiring harness with the '56/'57 and hit the brakes again, but this time only the 2057s came on (which aren't available on the new wiring harness). I can't use the stock wiring harness on the new taillights because the housing is way too big. I am out of ideas because everything was fine before and I didn't disconnect any main wires. Any ideas?

Its a sign...dont put them on the car. Stock look way better anyway. Get some Si tails.

I need honest feedback, not personal opinions... I'm just wondering if it might be my trunk light wiring, the only problem is that one bulb will come on and the other won't.
