I saw these suicide trunks on ebay and thought they look pretty cool.Anyone know if they are **** or what not. And how hard they are to install?

 

i tried one waaaay back then, its not hard to install, btu idk, it sometimes doesnt sit right when it's down and its NOT convenient to open/close all the time. I think it looks super good up, but getting itb ack down is another story

 

If I'm not mistaken I believe I have seen a DIY for a suicide trunk...possibly on these forums. It seems like a fun mod but looks like it would be harder to load anything into your trunk if you try to fill it up with boxes or large objects. Doesn't seem like a bad idea though if you just use your trunk as a speaker box.

 

Instead of paying 20bucks or sofor it on ebay, you can get all the stuff you need in any hardware store..just to let u know. I bought one from ebay but i havent had the chance to install them.

 

^ yeah that too. Its just like a hinge and a buncha self-tapping screws. You could really buy it at a hardware store for prolly cheaper

ya simple hardware store visit will get ya just as good as those ebay auctions...
tho personaly i would never use the ghetto hinges......
if i was EVER to do this mod i would spend the 10Xs the cash and buy the autoloc flipflop kit. it looks a hell of alot beter and has to work alot beter than the ghetto way!

man that car is nuts..... tho it does look cool as hell.... its got to have a downfall... like probably burning out motors like no other! they have to be some heavy duty motors to spin them over but you see how they struggle after fliping the door over.... LOL

 

Yea, i agree too, suicide trunk would stand out and look cool from the rest but, it is a hell of inconvience. If your trunk is being used often for loading stuff, it will definitely be a pain.
