Default started baking apart headlights to paint black and tint eyebrow

well just got done baking the headlights apart and i must say WOW they came apart VERY EASILY!!!!! i didnt know that the chrome part that i wanted to paint black actualy comes outta the headlights..... preaty cool... will make it VERY EASY to paint then!!!!!

gonna paint them black tomorow and seal em back together........
then after they are all dried up good im gonna paint the headlights lenses with some VHT nite-shades [8D]

i just dont exactly KNOW HOW im gonna tint them.... but it will be mostly like some eyebrows.... cause i just dont like my CF eyelids BUT i do like the EYELID SHAPE
just the carbon fiber looks like crap plus sticks up off the headlights... the paint will lay down perfectly and will still shine some light thru the headlights at night.... SHOULD be preaty nice.... I HOPE AT LEAST!!!!!

tho this is why you SHOULDNT use EBAY headlight bulbs.LOL MELTED......

If it melted you put it in too long

Preheat to 200F turn off over, place in for 5 minutes, i don't know who that went wrong

na the one thats melted was like that BEFORE i put it in the oven
guess i shoulda said that first.LOL

i put the heat on 325 on conventional oven and poped the lights in for about 2 1/2mins.... worked GREAT!!!!!

i did my old jimmy on the 200degrees for 5mins and i ended up chiping the CRAP outta them and then busted one of the headlights in 3pieces when it shoulda only been 2.LMFAO
these things practicaly just fell apart

hum... well im kinda disapointed with the one headlight... since they dont match.... so im thinking of NOT sealing them up just yet and i might just BAKE apart my headlights that are on my car and then screw in the black painted pieces and then bake em back together...
cause the headlights alittle more foggy / scratched up alittle more than id like...
ive thought about try sanding the lenses down just not sure how this CLEAR plastic could turn out when sanded and waxed... so i might not use them afterall.... cause its a mix.LOL the good cover one is the one that has that inner melted spot.... and the other has the scratched not to clear lense.LOL

but heres the pics anyways... painted honda black, and the yellow reflectors tinted over alittle.... tho yellow shows alittle more out in the sun.

not to bad... but have been thinking about just buying some black headlights.LOL but hopefully if i swap on my headlight lenses hopefully it will look good.. but now that i think about it i might wanna go inspect my headlight lenses up close first... BUT IF they are scratched up i think im gonna just buy new black headlights.LOL

Those look great. How hard was it to get them apart?

it was very easy to bake them apart! 325 in the oven for rufly 2 1/2 mins and they came right apart!
my only problem was on both reflectors they both busted off the plastic clip part.... so they are hot glued in place now
but it holds fine...
