Default Sparco seats

I want to get some Sparco seats, but I see a lot of cars have a bar going behind the seats to strap the belts to. Is there a way I can utilize my back seats and still somehow mount the belts? Or am i just going to have to lose the rear seats?

I was just going to ask that! Couldn't you use the OEM seatbelts or will I have to use the rear belts?

You should use OEM seatbelts unless the car is fully caged. Anyone who uses just a harness bar is begging for a broken neck

And how can you get black OEM seatbelts? My car is all gray on the inside but I want black seats... sorry for hijacking your post, Spark, i figure we can both capitalize on this.

So I have to ask, which Sparco seats are you looking at? And what kind of racing do you plan to do? Because chances are, you DO NOT need a harness.

For a harness to meet the correct safety requirements you have to have a chassis mounted attachment bar for the harness.

Absolutely not. Harnesses hold you in differently than the stock belts. They're harder to get you out of in you're in an accident. Depending on where you have them mounted, they can compress your spine upon impact. They hold you back to the seat so you can't lean forward and check your blind spot while driving. And if you do have a roll cage, the last thing you want is to hit your head on it with no helmet.

^Good points. Plus if you DONT have a full cage, and you roll the car, the harnesses don't allow side to side movement, so you are basically pinned in your seat sitting straight up when the roof collapses. Can you say Paraplegic?
