Default Side skirt help

Ok i have a 2000 black civic ex, the side skirts are non pained and i want the painted one like on the si. What do you think i should do: Buy some off a junked si, paint them my self, or have them painted? If you say paint them your self, can you tell me how and what color paint i need(number if you have it). Also where do i get this paint at? If you say get it done how much is it going to cost? Thanks so much for your help guys!

Getting it paintedwould last longer, and mabey look better. But its alot more money then doing it yourself. So here is a DIY link for doing it yourself.

i'm gonna paint my side skirts to match my car, they're just too grayish for my taste.

one thing though, the reason it last much longer if you have it painted, is because most shops add a flex agent to the paint to help the paint stretch when the part is flexed. even if the paint doesn't last as long if you diy, you can paint them yourself about 10 times before it will cost you as much to take them to a shop.

i've still gotta get my wheels, so it might be a while, i believe i'm gonna leave the front lip black due to the contrast with the hood, i think i'm gonna do the prep work and then let my dad spray the color and clear, he's really good with a spray can.

the contrast in the color won't be that off because it's not the same material, nor is it continuous with the body of the car, so a slight shade difference won't be that noticable, plus it'll look better than faded black plastic.

nice, thats good to know cuz this spring = new lip.

Think i could just use a generic black with lots of clear coat and just take my time, or should i go to NAPA and get them to custom make me a can of the exact color from my VIN #? Just lookin to use the generic black cuz of cost.....
