Default Side marker

So i just got side markers from ebay today and they didnt fit..So i was wondering what is the size of the stock side marker. The one i got off ebay was a lot longer then my stock one. But when i was lookin at my stock one, the cut-out in the fender it is like hand cut...But What is the stock size of a 1997 honda civic EX side marker...thanks

is your current one oval and have a flat lense or is it more oblonged and had a domed lense that's off center?

In your photo's it looks like you have eg/da (92-95 civic, 94-01 tegra) sidemakers (oval with flat plastic lense), where as the ek's/bb4's (96-00 civic and not sure on what years preludes) are longer and have an offset dome to the lense cover.

Yeah mine is oval and the light is in the middle..and the one that was shiped to me is longer and is offset. is there a reason that my 97 civic has different sidemarkers?

You current ones, are they screwed in or can you pop them out with out use of a tool?
I would assume you purchased the car with the side markers already installed?
US civics (least I think this is correct for ek's) don't come with sidemakers and so any units that are installed are retro fitted, be it oe style or in my case cheap *** apc units (that I really need to replace with oe's). The only reason they'd have the eg's over the ek's was probably installers preference (I've been debating the one to, the eg's is smaller and simplier but the ek's are stock...). You can do one of two things, you can either cut the hole opend bigger to fit the ek or try to get an excahnge from the seller for the eg's (92-95).

Yea that's the factory style eg unit. Me personally I like the smaller simpler look of that marker so I'd be willing to stick with it (in my case I gotta cut the funder either way [&:] ). Most ebay vendors will be willing to do an exchange, if not I'd be willing to buy your units off you since I need to get oe markers anyways.

Hey I'm here to help, it's what the forums are for [sm=smiley20.gif]
