Default shift light

to compliment all of my other gauges and things i have ordered for my car, i think i want a shift light. here is what i have found - http://www.optionimports.com/gitareshli.html what do you think? it is made by apexi. it says 2 color, 7 led....i only see blue. whats the other color? well, what do you think? or should i get another one. i looked at autometer but they seem like they are too big. im pretty sure with this one i can set what rpm i want the light to come on with....

I think that colour would go nicely with your Civic. But IMO, I think shift lights are sooo fast and furious. And that one is more than I would be willing to pay for one of those. But that's just my opinion, and it's your car and not mine.

And yes, you can set the shift light at whatever rpm you like.

dude......i got my shift light from ebay like well over a year ago, it lights up bluish/purple and its still working perfectly, compltely adjustable too. Granted its not as sleek as that one and its not LED, but man, its like $200 cheaper. I say hit up ebay, but do whatever u want....

My friend has his check engine light set up as his shift light. I'm not sure how he did it but it works well and IMO it's slick as s***

I know if you get a 92-95 chipped from here: http://www.phearable.net/usdmchipkit.html you can do it. You could ask them if they can do it for the EK gen.

The check engine light shift light can also be done with a shift light controller and simply tapping the shift light controllers output that would normally goto the shift light into the check engine light power connections.

The second light of the shift light is a center mounted RED led that I'd assume would light up at the extreme high end of your rpm setting.... this being said I too would op for a less expensive version (I'm an ebay ***** when it comes down to it, and with plenty of checking and research I've yet to be burned) or even just a simple single led unit....

When I had my tach with the shift light, it was sweet for about a week. After that I made it so it never went on, it gets annoying.

Autometer is still the best in these business, I think...
Well, its not made in japan though.
If you want a good shift lite (made in japan), get PIVOT brand, really good, accurate and only 2 wires to connect. Positive and ground wires.. thats all. I've been using it for almost 2 years in my Jazz, never give any problems.
