Default Scratches in textured plastic

I've always had an issue with scratches in the dash in all my vehicles, but I never figured out a way to fix them. Like right now, in my 00 ex, there is a light, but long, scratch across my glove box.

How do you fix that? Do I have to pull it out and paint over it or what?

The best long-term fix would be to pull the glove box and then sand it with a very fine sandpaper. Then you have two options. Depending on the severity of the scratch, sanding it out may look fine and you can just replace the glove box and be on your way. More than likely you will have to primer and paint the box after sanding it though.

just a thought, but just about any junkyard car will still have a decent interior, replacing the part won't be that expensive if you show up wearing a carhart and bring cash and tools
