Ok, im probally going to get yelled at for askin but im going to anyway. What makes a car "rice" as opposed to nice. What is rice. Pictures would be cool...

 

Nice = Your car
Rice = Anyone's car that you think you don't like, even though they spent a ton of cash on it and it's Nice to them.

 

...anyway..

It really shouldnt matter to you what anyone else thinks is rice, cause its your car, so rock it however you want to rock it. Rice can be anything from hand cut springs, to decking your car out in the "all show, no go" aspect.


Items most frequently referred to as rice are as follows...

Euro Tails
Stickers/Decals representing products you don't have
Obnoxious body kits
Park bench spoilers
things of this nature...

 

Its really up to you but just dont try to hard.

Park bench spoilers!?? I haven't heard of them referred to like that but that just split my gut! Hilarious! You guys are right... don't try too hard to make it look fast. It's somewhat pointless. I would much rather spend nothing on looks and everything on speed. Wait that came out wrong. I'm no junkie but I wannna look good. And if you're a junkie you cant look good. =O) I just want my car to go fast...Yet I want to salvage the (nearly) unsalvageable.

rice is everything someone else dosent like...iv heard of tint being called rice[&:][&:][&:]

 

I always think of "rice" as something that is just too over the top. Its just "too much." Massive whale tail spoilers, body kits that are so low to the ground a speed bump would rip them off in a heartbeat, and vinyl. Dear lord I hate most vinyls. Its seems like if someone gets one they like, they add about 20 more massive skulls and cross-bones, or purple flames to the sides. Bleh. But thats just my 2 cents.

I showed a picture of a Mugen lip kit to my girlfriend, and she says "EEEEEWWWW, rice." To each his own I guess.

 

So it seems like im mostly just getting that rice is stuff that people dont like about ur car. So its a completley relative term. I agree with forty that no matter what u do to your car and no matter how good you think it looks, theres always going to be that person there to hate on it

 

to me, Rice is when you cant do something right, so you do it however you can. like you cant afford real foglights, so you get windshield sprayer lights, or you cant afford a spoiler and paint, so you get a cheapo aluminum one that doesnt need paint. if you cant do it right, hold off till you can. also, its when you go overboard with looks. or do things that dont look good together. pick a theme, and stick with it. i like my red car to have black accents, so im going to end up with dark wheels, CF lips, and maybe a CF hood. and tinted windows. but im not going to throw in some chrome altezzas or blue lights. keep it as simple as you are happy with. and power isnt rice
