This first time you unscrew those nuts, they are hell. Then, once the nuts are off, the arms are tuff too! It sucks.

Default RE: 9-06-07 project civic PAGE 19 New LED cluster EG

ok guys........ again my signature LED lighting back again

pulled out the cluster and modified it just about the same as my 99black civic. but the clusters are alittle different. mainly the "tach" section.... the circuit board is up high and close to the face. so i had to modify my style alittle from my past led cluster. this time i had to glue the led strip directly to the face of the tach! i also trimmed the led strip shorter. cut every 3 LEDs from the end on ly 9.5 or longer strips and they will still work.
and i also had to bend over two circuit board pieces. otherwise the ledstrip wont fit, and you want to try to give a gap between the face and leds.

ive got all the picture of the whole thing......

typical 3 sticks of HOT glue, a dremel, soldering gun, and philips screw driver. thats all ya need.
O DAMMMMMMMM i just remembered i forgot to wire in a led for my upshift light.... CRAP. o well ill do that tomorow.

well enough chat heres some pictures....

ya i like green the most!

i would have done green in my black civic BUT most of my interior addons where blue so i desided to stick with the same color... and just went blue.

the green turn out pretty nice tho. alot brighter at night! i love it! the needles almost look like they are green now.
i have just came up with a new idea tho.... to use some chrome reflective tape around the insides clear from the circuit boards of course. i think that might give alittle better around the sides glow for the needles.
because with these 92-95 clusters they dont have the front 2bulbs like my 99 does so they use some light from the back by just having like 1/4inch space between the gauges and gauge bezel.

might have to look around the shop and see ifi can find any or not.
also PLEASE DONT MIND THE BLUE PAINTERS TAPE.LOL when wire striping those tiny wires i had a few exposed wire spots so i just put what i had laying around them and them more hot glue all around the wires to hold them in place! also left pleanty of wire length on the tach portion just incase i do have to remove the tach for any unknown reason.

im just gonna go get something to eat now and when i get done eating im gonna pull the cluster again and put a shift light into the cluster.

well put in 1 5mm blue led into the cluster.
BUT before ya guys try this you must know this outter bezel is not from a EX but i think its from a DX...... it has a arrow pointing up, tho hard to get a picture of it, but here is a picture from the back.

just wired up a blue led and resistor and hot glue to stick it in the hole from the factory missing bulb of my EX cluster. and then wired it up to my other blue led from my aftermarket shift light.
so now i got 2 shift lights. one in cluster and one in the ac vent... im gonna wait to see which one i like best and see if i want to keep both or not....

the shift light looks nice, man.. personally, I think it'll be nicer to have than the one in the ac vent.

And after seeing your guages, I think I'll do my guages in green, the climate control in blue, and have blue neon (blue/green to match my head unit)

Everything looks great, man.

ya im not sure which one ill keep just yet. have to wait till tomorow morning for my drive to work in the dark.
only good thing about the shiftlight is it keeps me from speeding as much on the highway. because around 67mph the light comes ON and starts to blink...
but it only seems to really bother me when its dark out just cruising. during the day i can kinda block it out easily enough.
either way i decide to keep it it only takes a simple SNIP of wire cutters to disable the one i want to.
time will tell.

You could always wire it to a switch so that you can disable it temporarily. But, I'm sure you don't want another random/unnecessary switch.
