RE: projection lights?
Projection fittings are designed to throw light at a greater distance, and the beam is more defined. Stock lens are more open beam and create a wider fat beam.
In most cases poor light quality is down to incorrect alignment which you should get calibrated bya mechanic, or youself if you know what your doing and have the tools.
What i can say is 99.9% of the time its down to the lamp used, to get the best from any light fitting you need the correct lamps, HID or Gas Discharge lamps offer a brighter cleaner whiter light, and will work great in a projector. Standard halogen lamps give off a warmer light which is more orange in colour.
a HID lamp will reduce fatigue, but if not set correctly IE: too high will cause mega danger to on coming traffic, and yourself
bit light wearing glasses,
projector - long sight better ahead vision
standard reflector - better near vision, poor distance.

RE: projection lights?
I'm interested in getting these aswell.
I have a 2002 LX Civic, and i was wondering if i get something like this what else am i going to need. will any light bulbs work? Or am i going to have to get an HID kit aswell, and how does that halo effect work?
My car takes 9003 bulbs and I think my Highbeems are the same bulb....

I didn't know JDM = Honda. I thought JDM meant Japanese Domestic Market, for all parts that are created in Japan by Japanese Auto Manufacturers. Although the EK prefix should have been intuitive. I am nub... sorry
But thanks for posting that info, clears things up and lets me know how much I will need to spend. $400 is not too bad.
