Default Problems with a 5 Inch autometer Tach,Different From Factory Need Help

I got an Autometer 5 inch tach, and I have noticed when my factory tach is at 5,000 rpms, that the autometer is on like 4,500 rpms and my car will shut out at 7,000 on the autometer, and 7,600, 7,700 on my factory tach, I was wondering If there was a weak connection somwhere, or my autometer tach is getting bad, Does anybody Have/ Or know how to fix this Problem,
Thanks,
Jesse

check the signal wire connection that would be the only thing that could be doing that.
