has anyone thought about polishing the valve cover yourself? i was thinking about using a wiz wheel with a scuffy pad and seeing how well that worked. im sure someone here has done it.

 

i thought about polishing mine, but it is a lot of effort because you need to go over it many times, each time with a lees gritty polish. i just painted mine an it looks good enough. besides with polish, you need to keep it polished. but if you do polish it post some pics im sure it will look goood

 

i polished mine with a buffing wheel and mother's aluminum wheel polish. not the best but makes it look good.

 

i polished it last night. used a whiz wheel. it took forever, ended up stopping after about 2 hours. i havent buffed it yet. ill post a pic when i get around to it.

wow that looks really good^^ but ya it would be a arm and a leg to get it done, i have a pic that i took at a show and it was cool how they polished theres..you can see a little of it,ill post it when i get home

not too bad.. I had a polish i bought at a show a couple years agp called Speedy Bee Aluminum polish. This stff puts mothers to shame. It gan meake galvanized metal look good. Trying to find out how i can get more right now. i wil keep everyone updated if i find a place to buy it.


Alwost forgot..you could just spend the $200.00 and get a chrome valve cover
