painted black today...damn what a pain in the ***. spokes are hard to spray evenly and it sure dosnt help when the spray bottles dont shoot a smooth spray or clog up[:@]

due to the damn spray bottles, i was left with some spots of paint on all the wheels. i knew they were happening but couldnt do anything about it so i just kept spraying. i'll probably wet sand them a bit tomorrow to try and smooth out the paint.

i did. bottle says wait about 10 mins between coats or a little longer if its cooler out. i did coats every 15mins since its a bit cool out. was a bit tough tho because of the stupid spray nozzles on the cans wouldnt spray evenly. one got clogged and wouldnt spray anymore and ihad to throw it out with about 1/3 left in it..

o ya... i had a similar problem when i painted my old cheap rims.
i found it was easier to paint them with them balanced on a jackstand for each rim. only had a few drips. but you could have just pulled the tip off another can

yeahi had the wheels tilted at an angle, not flat on the ground to make getting in the corners of the spokes easier. also made for better spraying but still not good enough. i tried pulling the tip off and changing but didnt work out.

got the lip done today. another major pain in the ***. masking the lip off and covering the rest of the wheel was a b*tch. didnt get the lip masked off perfectly but it came out good enough for me. need to wetsand tomorrow since i got a little overspray on the black part of the wheels. thought i had them covered well but apparently not[:@]the yellow came out much much much better than i anticipated. color looks ****

Wow, looking good man.

I'm going to be painting my rims soon too. I want to paint the lip aswell but I was thinking that it would be too much of a pain masking it. Was it really hard to do or is it worth doing? I'll prolly do black with a blue lip i dunno. That yellow looks sweet

when i started masking off the lips, i asked myself wtf was i doing haha. i think it took a lil over an hour to mask them off, couple small breaks in there. if u have some pretty thin painters tape, i figure it'd be a bit easier to mask off. its just hard to get it perfect since the lip on these wheels are rounded at the edge. i think it was worth it tho. looked great when i pulled the tape off and saw the yellow agenst the black.
