does any one know if it is illegal to reposition the front license plate of a car to the right side of the front bumper in new york ? thanks

 

pretty sure it's not illegal, for california (IMO, the state that has the toughest vehicle laws) but for California as long as you have a front and rear license plate it's ok, doesn't matter where. and a lot of people in my area does what you want to do, relocate the plates to the sides of the bumper, mainly on the grill held by zip ties
