sounds pretty cool... walmart has some pretty cool paint, and if you take your time and do it right it will look cool. My 85 Bronco has tan interior. It HAD woodgrain on the dash(just a plastic venir) so I sanded and cleaned the "woodgrain" and painted it with color shifting paint. It turned out pretty badass. It shifts from green-purple-blue. I love it. Maybe I'll try to post pictures sometime.

What type/brand of paint did you use? I'm asking cuz I painted mine and it just started to peel. I tried Krylon Fusion (paint for plastics).

did you paint it right? sand down, clean with sope and water, primer, paint, clear? ..because i used krylon fusion and it works amazing, no pealing at all and i had it painted for over a year in very hot tempatures to very cold tempitures (i live in canada) and no problems

Wut about rubbing? Cuz my knee rubs on the console/dash and rubbed a little off. I didn't know how much to sand down, too. So I ruffed it up a bit before primering. I don't think I soaped it though. If it worked for you, I guess I'll try it again...

to be honest..i used rustoleum auto primer.. 3 coats.. then a silver walmart/or rustoleum under coat..and on my escort i used a candy apple red model paint..but for the civic its all vinyl..soo i used just primer..and walmart paint... and then clear coated it once..then put the glow on..then put a coat of clear coat on again.. i dont know about chipping..but i know it looks blotched when its glowing..which really sucks *****..cause i put the glow paint on in a nice even coat..and im not redoing it at 13 dollars a freaking can!
