Default MESH GRILL CUTTING?

My friend has a 95' civic and we are going to cut out the 2 side vents and the main front one. For now we are installing mesh but eventually when he get a turbo we are just going to take out the mesh so you can se the intercooler and pipes.

My question is, is there any SPECIAL/BEST way of cutting out the three sections? My guest is just use a really sharp husky utility knife and put masking tape around the cutting lines so there are no chips or frays but there could be anoter way. So any imput would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

wire cutters

make templates out of cardboard first

make sure you have enough extra to do it over at leasy once, you'll probably mess something up [&:]

i don't quite know what ur talking about but i'm guessing for cutting out the plastic side vents, i would use a pair of box cutters or a saw blade with a handle. then use an exacto knife to give a smooth edge, don't use a file or sandpaper, it'll give a rough and dull appearance.

oh snap, I though you meant for cutting the mesh itself. Never mind.
