im not a fan of fiberglass when molding parts.... to hard to smooth down the glass!
this plastic epoxy stuff is alittle flexable and sands just like bondo nice and smooth very easy!!!! i used it on my old truck and it worked GREAT!!!!

plus ive seen the 96-98 ac controls moved down on another sick civic i used to drool over...

i used to love his civic so much. the stereo and air ride was so cool.
tho his dash i think it alittle flawed definatly could have done a better job on molding the opening. i know i can do better if i put some time into it.
hardest part is finding a paint that closely matches the stock looks.

i have a 94 ej1. today i pulled most of my dash apart to figure out how to go about moving the c/c, and how to get the cable attached and working freely... the image i've got in my mind is an interior lower and joined center console housing the c/c and h/u that looks almost factory if u can imagine, i think i'm going to build the console using acrylic and fiberglass and maybe cover it in black vinyl. will keep u lot posted.

o thats not mine! thats steve meades civic.
his modifying his dash convinced me to modify my trucks dash.
before with only alittle mod like the plexiglass voltage display.

to a full mod

i loved that setup.... wish it would have been larger screen.LOL

i loved that truck... but didnt like the MPG it got... only reason i sold it i should have kept it and slamed it low!

cool, i'm using a 7" lcd, could have gone for an 8" but would have made things even more tricky as the eg dash is tiny. but hey size isn't everything...
i spent today building a basic square lower console with the cc fitted inside and have worked out that i can shorten the temp adjust wire to get everything to hook up nicely. i guess once u get ur head around things it all seems more more straight forward i'm hoping to finish the console and dash in 3 weeks, i know this is long but i don't want to rush things, plus fiberglass n filler takes time.
i can't remember where i put my camera cable but will get some pics up of what i've done so far when i find it.
i know if i can get this right a few more people will give it a go.

get the JDM audio console. Danomatic has one, here's his pic.

you might even just put the screen in the lower part, it'd be a lot less work.
