making a center console
i'm hooked on the idea of putting a screen in the dash, i mean relocating the h/u and climate controls lower down where the ashtray is located. i've seen it done before but would like some input from anyone who has experience... and just ideas! i've made a few bits out of fiberglass so maybe thats the way to go??

all depends what year you have.....
the climate controls are alittle more envolved when relocating BUT doable.... depends if it is a cable driven controls or electric.... electric is very easy to move..... just cut the wires and extend them ONE BY ONE.... never have 2 wires cut at the same time to ensure you wire everything up perfectly. then just find a way to mount the controls...
ive wanted to relocate my climate controls on my 96dx since i got it so i can modify the dash to fit my DD radio in it....

If you are do hate a 96-98 you can swap your climate controls to the electronic 99-00 climate controls and then easily extend the wiring for relocating the cc unit.
Here's a DIY on swaping the manual 96-98 CC to a electronic 99-00 CC:

ya i could do that myself BUT i dont want to go thru all that work!
myself im going to relocate my climate controls to the lower console behind the cupholder area, then with some plastic molding stuff kinda like bondo but better modify the whole console to fit my double din radio. and maybe alittle opening for a EQ right under it so i can tweek the system alittle more. tho im thinking of something small but nice like a EPIC160 so i can slightly tweek the bass, see my volatage and see my spl score all in one unit. i used to have the 150 which was very nice unit. only difference is the 160 reads up to 160db and the 150.. well ya only goes to 150.
plus my 96-98 console is already chewed up! so i wouldnt feel bad at all cuting away at it!
worst case would be i trash it and then go thru all the work to convert it to electric 99-00.

o hell ya its illegal if they catch you watching video while driving!!!! LMFAO
but they have to catch you first....
most people just buy a flip out monitor its alot easier. but more prone to the motors going bad and sticking in or out.LOL

for the 99-00 its really easy... its all wires. its not the best thing to relocate with its shape but i have seen them moved under the arm rest when ya open the lid up he had them mounted there, tho i lost the pictures i saved when i had to fix my computer
