I would think your not putting on enough, maybe not enough at once, but enough coats. That's just my opionio. When I do it, I sand it, then a layer just misting of primer, then another layer, and then one more. Then I usually do 2-3 layers black and then like 2 clear. I have probably gone through about 20 cans or so, maybe a few more.

So you are using primer.. I thought this plastic stuff was the no primer type paint. I obviously can't paint things, lol.

Primer on plastic, not on vinyl.

How is the vinyl paint holding up? I've been wanting to do the same thing you are doing to the dash.

So, you used vinyl/carpet on the floor and dash?? That was duplicolor's right? Also, did you try the dye on the rear seats? I like my stock seats and just want to paint those.

Keep up the progress!

I didn't dye the rear seats, I just used a seat cover. And yes I also used duplicolors vinyl spray on the carpet and rugs. The only thing is that on the rug it tends to rub off because my feet are constantly scuffing on it. The rest of the paint throughout the car is holding up. I also used the vinyl paint on the celing.

Ok so obviously I haven't posted in this thread in a while but I thought I would post an update. Since all the old image links are broken from the old forum software I will go ahead and post the pictures of my current interior (these were taken like a year ago but it still looks the same except for the head unit and stuff).

So yeah, I am tired of the green and have decided to turn all the green into black for a full black interior. Eventually the theme of my car will be red and black (because those colors contrast much better with the exterior and its easier to find red things for the car). But, I won't be painting any interior parts red, but I want to change the material in the door to red and get some red and black seats. So basically a black interior with red and black upholstery. So I've starting painting the green parts black and here's some pics so far. Shoudn't take me too much longer since the majority of the interior I already painted black initially with just some accented green pieces (vents, pillars, door handles, etc...) which is what I am painting now.

nice job going back to black. black/red > black/green.

find it funny how many people paint their interior and eventually going back to stock or black. lol
