Default Great way to clear foggy headlights

My headlights were starting to get pretty foggy, so i decided to wetsand them with 600 and 2000 grit sandpaper. Afterwards, I dried them and buffed them with some plastic polish. I was very satisfied with the results. Took away most of the fog, but some still remains if you look closely. I dont have any before pictures, but here are the after ones.

Someone told me that if you use tooth paste it will take the fog off of head lights. My dad tried it on his car and it made them perfectly clear

It should work since you only have to scratch the surface with something that isnt too rough, then clean it up real good and shine it up and you will end up with a fresh layer of plastic.
