my bass has got it so loose that its starting to get really noisy.I have tried to kinda take that cap off to it but i didnt really put that much muscle into it cause i didnt wanna break it....so is there even a way to take it off and tighten it??

 

Are you talking about where the mirror connects to the stem or where the stem connects to the roof?

If its just that the mirror to stem has gotten loose over time you can put a few drops of locktight on it. It will harded and make it fit tighter. As for the stem to roof one, I have tightened them down seriously tight and never broken one.

there's diy somewhere on the net where you can wrap electrical tape around the pivot ball to tighten up the gap, it just makes the mirror more firm, but you can still move it when necessary

 

i need both tightened....lol...mainly where it connects to the roof though with that cap thingy...

 

Hell just crank that sucker down. If it is still loose. Just put a washer in between them and retighten it.

 

can i pop it off with a screwdiver???

 

side note, if your bass is so loud that screws are starting to loosen from their holes, you're doing some major damage to your ears

low level bass is not good for your ears at all

 

yeah i know i got the king kong in the trunk...lol...anyways i know its not good for my ears but im ok with that cause im all about the music and bass,if i go deaf at least i know my hearing went to the bass gods...lol

 

Dude amen..my rear view mirror is starting to move around like crazy..i have to move it after every song...but yeah im gunna try to tighten mine today...
