Are you talking about something like this?

Or are you talking about painting the plastic cover, like a smoked headlight look?

Yeah, are you talking like CTR headlights where the inner housing is black, or are you talking about the lenses being blacked out like on my mustang?

LOL.. I was trying to google a picture of blacked headlights for about 10 minutes reaper, didn't even think of your stang.

BTW, either method (or look) you want to go for is easy to accomplish. Let us know, we'll help you out.

edit* there needs to be a spell checker on this as I obviously cannot spell.

But yeah, OP, let us know what you want and we'll be able to tell you. Like cvc said, both methods are easy to accomplish.

oh, i was talking about the spray you can buy to get that smoke look. is it just as simple as unsealing, spraying, and sealing back up? or are there tricks involved?

Well if you want to smoke your headlight lens like my tail lights are and reapers headlights are then yes it is MOST LIKELY illegal. I say that because every state has its own laws.

As far as doing it, there is no sealing or unsealing involved. Just remove the headlights, scuff them up with some light sandpaper (1000 grit or so) and then spray the lights in light coats. Do a search for "tinting tail lights" on here and you'll see my complete write up on it in TrustDestruction's thread about spray tinting. If you follow those directions you shouldnt have any issues with peeling or flaking.

Yup, look around for a can of VHT Niteshades; it's a translucent black lens paint. You're actually supposed to spray the outside of the lens, not the inside, so all you have to do is pull the headlights off, scuff 'em up, and spray them like 315 said.

And yeah, it's most likely illegal; I'm waiting to get pulled over for them
