Default SRI installed no improvements gained

I installed a SRI on my 97 Civic coupe D16Y7. It is a similar type to the one in the DIY section. However I have little low end power, and the car is really lazy to take off. I was wondering if i need to upgrade the exhaust as well or is there something i missed when installing the SRI. It tends to burn alot of fuel as well even though it was recently tuned. What do you guys think?

do you have a CEL? did you connect all the sensors? you shouldn't have lost power... maybe your car was just weak to start with? seriously though, you won't really notice THAT much power; you'll notice the better throttle response. how do you know it's burning more fuel by the way?

Ok. One thing i notice is thatI have to push the gas pedal a quarter of the way down before it starts to rev. I am not sure if that was before or after the SRI install. I have good power after second gear but the taking off is really slow. Before the SRI install, a full tank lasted 6 days now I have to refuel again on the beginning of the 6th day. I will have to get someone check the throttle cable for play.
When installing the SRI I followed all the directions in the DIY section.
