well a 'performance' muffler alone wont do anything. you want a catback system. basically its bigger piping from the catalytic converter back. general consensus is they will add about 5hp alone. my recommendations:

Greddy EVOII
Megan Racing
Skunk2
Magnaflow

in that order. there are a lot of other really good ones out there.

thanks for the reply. would like to buy the catback system but don't have the money for it. anything you would recommend instead of a stock muffler?

There's really no such thing as a "performance muffler" when it comes to sport compacts. A performance muffler is a fart can, and you will be called a ricer. As stated above, what you want is a cat-back exhaust system. Its more expensive, but at the end you'll have more pride in your car knowing you did it the right way.

you can actually pull up to any muffler shop, and for about 2-250 you can get a whole catback, parts, labor, complete... it just wont be made out of any special material.... but no clamped joints and you can take it back if something is not quite perfect.

its worth it to save up and get a regular catback rather than an axle back.
