Default Intake Manifold Gasket (5HP Gain?)

Looking for comments, suggestions, ideas? Just received mine today.

"These gaskets are engineered to reduce the heat transfer between the head of the motor and the intake manifold. This allows for a much cooler/denser intake charge, higher horsepower and greater reliability. Power gains of up to 5% can be realized by using this gasket"

Nobody has seen these? It feels and looks kind of like hard plastic, should I use this gasket?

the gains they report are unrealistic. If you gain any hp at all i would probably guess 1hp.

I would just stick with OEM if I were you. I'm not too sure about that gasket.

I already bought it awhile ago, would it be worth putting in?

i'm not sure. I've read online that the plastic ones fail easier. It may not transfer heat as much, but it's not as reliable as a metal gasket.

yeah you will see some gains, the gasket is like the hondatas, we did some of our own testing before and after temps on the intake manifold and it dropped 29 degrees, it went from burning the sh*t out of your hand (checked with a temp gun as well) to being able to hold your hand on the manifold comfurtably. Did it gain 5hp! no. Did it cool the intake charge! Yes, Was it worth it! Yes. Does cooler air make more power! Yes even if it is a hp or two Use the gasket you will be just fine

plastic gaskets do what they're supposed to, that is reduce metal to metal heat transfer. this usually doesn't decrease air intake temperature enough because the friction in the moving air isn't in contact enough for it to make a difference. if your vehicle is t/c or s/c, that's a another story.

It doesn't say you will get a 5hp gain, it says "5% Horsepower Gains"
The question is, 5% of what
