intake installation

RE: intake installation
mine i had the same problem....
it shoulda had 3 holes BUT it only had two.......
if ya got a drill you can make it work.....
and i will recomend you drilling it from the botom of the intake to kinda hide it
now with a pair of pliers rip out the metal tube outta the stock intake.. pull on it preaty hard but try not to crush it... then what i did was i got some rubber vacume blocks off pieces and i got one that fit that tube nicely and then started drilling some holes starting off slow so it was a tight fit and used alittle oil on the rubber piece to help push it in thier tight!
then just put it all together and ya also now have that tube hidden from the botom just looks smoother if ya ask me...
my first intake i had i just put it on the side and it didnt look as good....
just dont use any engine cleaner on the cheap tubes cause they will cloud and look VERY UGLY!
also buy a new filter! i recomend a AEM dryflow filter cause i got one seems to work great.. the cheap intakes just come with a steel mesh filter.. TOTAL CRAP!!!
that was my first intake... heres my second one with the 3rd port hidden on the botom..
i also deleted that double metal tubeing.... cause one was for the valve cover and the other is for some radiator fluid... tho mine i just used what i had layen around.LOL i had a T hose conected and i needed just a elbow and i coulda also just got a different hose and make the two hoses one... BUT im just to lazy since my T conection with the extra blocked off works fine.LOL
id also recomend just geting some regular tubing for the valve cover and intake tube.... cause im using the crapy tube taht came with it and it is to hard and wont crush with the hose clamps... it keeps comen off my valve cover all the time!!

RE: intake installation
ya the one with 2 nipples and a hole is what its suposed to have..... but some intakes only come with one nippe and one hole...
found that out the hard way.. NUT its rather easy to fix with just alittle time... you can make it work and also hide that third hose looks alittle more stealthy
id like to get a solid intake myself and hide every tube on the botom... [8D]

RE: intake installation
someone told me another way to fix the problem with less work would be to buy a small 12mm air breather for the crankcase, then i wouldo only need two holes.
Would this work, or should I just drill a new hole, pros and cons to each?
