Do you regularly drive in puddles so that your filter is submerged in water?
YOu can always TRY a bypass valve, but if you always drive through water high enough for your filter to be covered then you might want to consider a short ram intake.

don't mean to sound rude, but this question is one of the top asked questions and has been answered several hundred times, please search before you post any more questions. there are several stickies on this forum that will give you a lot of valuble info if you're new to cars in general.

like macbeth said you could try the bypass, but that would defeat the purpose of a CAI. unless you are driving in foot+ water all the time you dont have to worry about a little water here and there.

turn your CAI into a short ram, and don't worry about it anymore.

How low? I had one that litterally came out from underneath the car and i drove though some big puddles (cars lowerd 2.25 inches), and never had a problem. As long as your carefull it will be fine, but if you are really worried about it then turn it into a short ram....
