Does the brand make a difference
I was wondering if there was a major difference between ordering an Injen short ram iintake or ordering an intake off of ebay for 1/10th of the price.
I was specifically looking at this.
This is the Injen I was looking to order.

This was the intake I found on ebay.

Thank you for any help.
The ebay intake is so cheap there must be something fishy about it.

The Brand does not really make a noticeable difference, but if you go ebay make sure its the right one for your engine first (i.e. look thru the listing and make sure its not for a DX if you have an EX or vice versa it may say one thing in the title and different in the description). Also the ebay filters aren't good, so you can get a cheap ebay intake then get a K&N or AEM filter the same size ($30-50) and it should be pretty similar performance

well if ya got a DX... intake going straight up then i would sugest a good intake for a good fit! all the ebay ones ive seen never look like they fit right!
and like already said if you go with a cheap intake definatly replace the filter. get the intake measure the tube and buy the right size filter. i like the AEM Dryflow filter myself.

yeah that's why i decided to go with an AEM intake for my DX, cost me $90 on ebay and I wouldnt have to worry about fitment on the DX or changing the filter

I will try and find it again and see if I can link it to you. I got it on ebay brand new, its a SRI not a CAI (as you can see from the sig lol) if that's what you're looking for, but if what you want is an SRI just let me know and I will try and look in my past transactions thing on ebay; I bought it a few months ago so I hope its still there

ya im fine with a SRI. hell my 96 doesnt even have that cut out opening infront for the CAI like my 99 has.LOL
my ghetto CAI.LOL
it was a spare i had from my 99.
no cut out up front behind the headlights

well i just looked again (the seller was not in my recent transactions list cuz I bought it a few months ago) and the cheapest I could find on ebay right now for a DX throttle body is 130
hahah nice ghetto rigged intake tho, I have seen people who have DX's and got an EX SRI do that, just leave the stock air box on and take out the filter then attach it to that, not sure what that does for gains and/or sound

well i dont expect any gains.... just better looks and maybe the sound... right now i just have a stock filter and just slaped the tube empty on it.LOL
i modified my 99intake into a SRI. so i might swap them. hell ive even thought about geting some mandrel bent tubes and make my own intake

As far as brand diffrences go, injen intake v.s ebay intake. Just think abercrombie v.s walmart. You can essentially get the same thing, a shirt (both shirts will cover you),or an intake (both intake will give a marginal power increase). the diffrences are in the quality of matereals the quality of fit and the cool looks. But again a shirt is a shirt and an intake is an intake it just depends on how much your willing to pay for the "better" quality Lol. sorry for the bad metaphore I hope it gets my point accross. :-)
