yeah its possible but it takes a LOT of work. its a little-done process but if you want a decent performer its a great idea. i know Chimera was working on that project, i dont know if he gave up or not. have to wait to see if he posts about it.

^^^ Actually Nail, he was doing the Intake Manifold from the d16 (although that is the first thing I though too!) . No, the exhaust manifold for the d16 will not bolt up to the d17.

Never!!!!! hahaha. I am to the point where I can take the S2 IM on and off the engine without too much effort, at the point where I'm making a few more adjustments for the TB to fit and had to have a custom piece made for the IACV to fit <--- where majority of my concentrations are at the moment. But I'm forecasting that I can have this finished in 2-3 weeks. Takes so long cuz I only have Fridays to work on it. I'll throw up some pics when I get the IM and TB on the engine with no plans to take them off again.

As for the exhaust mani fitting, I see no reason why it can't be done except for the issue of cat placement, as for the bolting up it shouldn't take too much effort to adjust the holes so they line up, I only had to make 2 minor adjustments to the holes on the IM. You could also just switch over to the EX exhaust for the 7th gens, I know thats been done a couple times and doesn't take much effort.

you could do some cutting and welding to take the flange off of your d17 manifold and put it on the d16 header to get the bolts to line up. a lot of pros do that for their 2nd and 3rd gen civics.

yeah i dont remember who it was but some pro found a 77 civic with a JRSC bolted on (dont ask me how i dont know), a full roll cage, and intake for like 750 bucks. naturally he bought it. he added a header and exhaust by taking a header for a z6 and cutting off that flange and tehn taking the one off his 77s stock manifold and it fit perfectly.

not really. those old civics are light as hell and make for excellent soloI (hill climbing) or soloII (autox) if theyre built right. it had the original engine/tranny but it was built by mugen (came with a Mugen LSD), custom intake, and twin dellorto carbs, and a full roll cage and 13x7 inch Minilite wheels with brand new Yokohama AVS tires, racing sseat, stearing wheel, guages...ect. $2,300. great find. he just wanted a little more kick so did a little cutting and welding and the header fit perfectly.
