Default Cold Air Intake and RAIN!

Ok..A few days ago when it started up raining again, I started hearing a noise that seemed to be coming from my intake. And Im thinking I must have sucked something in there, maybe some nasty debris that was on the ground from the rain or something. Do you guys think its best to just take my Cold Air off for the winter?

its not a bad idea to take it off for the winter. we've only got a couple of months left, then you can throw it back on. what kind of noise?

thats what i was thinking too. maybe sucked up some chunky snow thats filled with debris and crap, melted, and froze when the car was turned off.

Haha yea I remember when I was in 5th grade, my teacher said if it snowed, we can have the whole day to play on the playground in the snow. It still has never happened. I havent had a chance to check it out, because once I said I felt a little bit better, Ive been working everyday straight. But tonite on my way home from work I didnt hear it. Once I get a chance in daylight to get in there Ill let you guys know more. I think Im gonna take it off, since like you said Caleb, we only have a few more months of rain. But I still have to wait til I get time off work during the day which is looking like it will be around next Saturday. [:'(] Thanks for the advice guys!!

So you dont run the risk of ruining it. With a cold air intake it is taking air from low to the ground, running the risk of sucking up stuff. A lot of ppl change their rims and tires in the winter because they want better tires for snow or rain, and so they dont ruin the rims. So we have lower risks of ruining stuff on our cars.
