Default APEXi WS2 Muffler -- Loud?

Got the APEXi WS2 Muffler installed on my 2004 Civic Sedan EX, but it is loud. I bought the WS2 because I heard it was quiet. I had the shop remove the stock muffler and resonator and insert a straight pipe to connect the muffler to my existing pipes. I am guessing that the removal of the resonator was a bad idea? Would adding it back bring down the excess noise? I would rather it sound smooth than the coffee-can noise it sounds like now.

PS - I did not keep my stock muffler and resonator. Should I just ask the shop to install a resonator they have in stock or should I buy my own and have them install? If option 2, then any suggestions on which resonator to buy?

Thanks!!

My setup:
2004 Civic Sedan EX
K&N Typhoon Air Intake
APEXi WS2 Muffler

Removing the resonator makes a big difference. The resonator is like a mini muffler, it mellows out the tone of the exhaust and attempts to change the sound of the combustion to mroe of a hum. I would recommend getting another one rewelded up.

Thanks! I figured that was it. Any ideas on which resonator I should buy?

It's not really quiet but it's not loud either. It is in between, but more on the quiet side than not. Resonator is a big deal. Also, the small stock pipes are probably making the exhaust tone lest pleasing.

For me, with I/H/E, my WS2 is quiet in low RPMs, just a little louder than stock... but if you go WOT or into the high RPMs (5k+) it gets quite loud. Though, the kind of loud that it gets sounds a lot different than the way a fart can does because the WS2 has a much better tone.

Post a video! I wanna hear what it sounds like because I am most likely going to getting one as well. Just so I don't make the same mistake.

Op, is your car louder than this?

Exactly. I want to get it cause of how it sounded over YouTube. Honestly, I love the sound but if the exhaust the OP has sounds way louder, I may reconsider...
