no one probably cares, but i called the number on www.aempower.com's website and you can find out what the v2 is like for you application. i asked him about mine and he said technically its not a short ram intake because its not in the engine bay but it doesnt go anywhere near as far out as the cold air intake does, and he said "the only way you're gonna hydrolock this is if your front end is up to your windshield in water"

i would rather get that jdm, but im gonna go with the aem v2.
Good point. I think hydrolocking is a bit overblown. Just stay away from deep streams of water and you'll be fine.

well you know when i first heard about it i was like well what idiot would go thru that amount of water. but i started to think and sometimes where i live (long island) say if the road is getting to a lower section and there's alot of rain/any hurricane, flooding does occur, and sometimes you cant avoid it. dont you ever remember a time when there was a huge puddle and you were like ahh nd you slowed down alot and went thru it?

idk when i first heard of hydrolock i didnt think about those times.
just my 2 cents haha

I remember, because I used to live in Connecticut. If I still did, I'd probably get the cold air and baypass instead of the V2. ....either that, or I'd have another car that'd be driven in wet weather.
