Tub's Civic Story

It shouldn't put up TOO much of a fight... but like Hobo said you are fighting the main shaft. So you ened to slide it right off, also the dowel pins are probably pretty tight in the trans/block as well. Find a corner where there's a lip on the tras and just try to pry it away, no specific spots.
And I just saw something on the last page about Wisconsin... that's where I'm at!

If you take the flywheel cover off (2 bolts on the oil pan, 2 on the tranny), you should see a spot where the flywheel is further away from the tranny case. like, just barely enough to fit a crowbar into. Also, you should put jackstands on the frame as well. It's scary being under a car held up by just the engine. I really want to see you come back here. D:

so i figured out im pretty much retarded. i didnt take the starter off. i took the starter motor off, not the whole starter. so i got that off, then it broke free. i needed to take a motor mount off all the way to get it out, which was fine, also the battery rack out, guess its time to relocate the battery =). anyway the next post will have pics of the civic. tell me what i should do to it. it all helps. and scott you have told me before you live in wisconsin, you live in Milwaukee i live in Madison lol. you told me to hit you up if i ever came over there. but yea enjoy the pics =)

head gasket change
so first off was valve cover, easy...
then take the head off. not really getting into much detail.
this is the head where the gasket was. time to clean it
this is the oil that came out. looks kinda like chocolate milk.
resoldered the main relay, i guess there was no problem with it but it cant hurt.
intake off
cleaned IACV (its on the bottom right of pic)
put it all back together, timed it up. ran for a while. now im working on the transmission problems.

Nice. That car needs paint, but that can wait.
If you pull off the interior panels, you can probably just pound that dent out. it's not a lot of work, just gotta figure out how everything comes out lol.
I can't believe how good the body is on that car...
Few simple things: get a cluster with a tachometer, from a 90-91 Civic Si/CRX

a lot of the stuff i know is for after you get her running strong. =P
look into the DPFI-MPFI swap. right now your civic has a glorified carburetor system, converting to multipoint fuel injection will really liven your car up again.

basically you use a Civic Si intake manifold and distributor and ECU on your existing motor. 4 injectors are greater than 2! =D
looking good, keep it up.

i have a friend who really wants to paint it, so i can get it done pretty cheep, but i do not know how good the paint job will be. the rust is very minimal but there is a tiny bit, so if i bring it to a place like maaco they will fix the rust too, which would be really nice. ill look into the mpfi thing, i dont like that i have to change the ecu... but overall i think that this will be a great project. its really gonna be fun =)

so im looking to buy like the entire front axle system thing. i guess i dont know what to call it. want like new drive axles, new struts, knuckles, springs, breaks, everything. someone should recomend something or else ill just buy it all individually. ive kinda decided that this summer will be about making it reliable and clean, then next summer ill do engine/tranny swap and ill have the shocks and breaks and all that done. so i guess first question... what should i get for springs/struts/axles/ stuff like that. and second what kind of engine/tranny combo should i do. i want to turbo it so its gotta be strong. one of my friends said to do a h23 or f20b. any suggestions?
